We’re Hiring

Every Home for Christ International/Canada (EHC) has an opening for an Administrative Assistant.

We are an international mission organization with over 75 years of active ministry in more than 200 nations and lead a gospel outreach ministry serving Canadian churches and individual Christ-followers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a heart for God, a desire to help reach people with the gospel, and whose ambition is to serve. This person is detailed oriented, possesses excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, has strong and proven organizational skills, and is proficient in office administration tasks, systems and software programs.

Overview

The Administrative Assistant role supports the work of the President, Vice-President and other team members for the efficient day-to-day operation of the office.

Work Location: In Guelph office

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Education: High School Diploma. Post secondary education in administration, computers or office administration is an asset.

Demonstrated competence

  • Able to give attention to details and see the connection between tasks and projects.
  • Able to set priorities and keep sight of the larger picture of the office functions and projects.
  • Able to compose correspondence from a directive.
  • Able to research and format information as directed.
  • Able to remain flexible in a dynamic work environement.

Proficiency

  • Detail oriented with high accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel and databases.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to move multiple tasks forward efficiently.
  • French language an asset.

Primary duties and responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of duties including the following:

  • Provides administrative support to the President and Vice-President.
  • Creates action lists from meetings for management and staff.
  • Makes travel, meeting and other arrangements for management staff.
  • Updates and ensures the accuracy of databases.
  • Answers general phone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner and redirects calls as appropriate.
  • Greets visitors to the office in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Uses computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail, including emails, faxes and deliveries.
  • Prepares and sends outgoing mail and courier envelopes and parcels.
  • Places orders for office supplies, and ensures that basic supplies are always available.
  • Provides administrative support to other staff
