Job Description

Accountable for delivering technical solutions to customers and supporting Edwards semiconductor business growth in Japan.

Main Duties Are:
1. Work with regional product managers and account team as appropriate to develop product value propositions, including cost of ownership modelling for individual products.
2. Translate customer requirements into appropriate product recommendations using applications expertise and internal tools (e.g. PumpCalc, TransCalc, TDR, AIBs).
3. Prepare and communicate knowledge and understanding of customer technical needs internally, including interpretation into specifications and/or non-standard customer requests (NSRs) where needed.
4. Prepare and deliver high quality, persuasive customer and internal communications in a clear, concise and structured manner.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product portfolio and development roadmaps / intersect points.
6. Clearly communicate locally derived and validated knowledge and learning collaboratively with Division and global applications team through internal presentations / meetings and Applications Information Bulletins (AIBs), providing feedback for TDR.
7. Collect and share internally market and competitor information, such as market share, new technologies, customer roadmap, competitor intelligence.
8. Continual improvement programs (CIPs) and customer corrective action requests (CARs): Investigate and implement solutions.
9. Participate in equipment failure investigations to identify root cause and drive improvements, using methodical analysis techniques (e.g. FMEA, 8D) and applications knowledge Deliver training programs to Edwards and customer personnel.
10. Co-ordinate or supervise the activities of Applications team members.
11. Deliver training programs to Edwards and customer personnel.
12. Actively engage in knowledge documentation and collaborative sharing using formal and informal tools, including developing best known methods (BKMs) and applications information bulletins (AIBs), and use such knowledge to deliver best practice.
13. Engage with customer on next generation technologies and roadmaps, providing feedback and influence to product developments to support customers' future needs.
14. Develop applications plan and team to introduce new technology, including beta site placements, and manage product qualification through to customers' high-volume manufacturing.
15. Collaborate with internal partners and colleagues to support cross-functional activities.
16. Ensure that all areas under direct control are conducted and work in a safe, effective, and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the Company's Health, Safety and Environment policy and ensure that the requirements local Health and Safety legislation are met.

Skills;

・BS degree level or higher in Science or Engineering, MS / PhD preferred
・More than 1 ~ 3 years as Junior Appications Engineer or equivalent
・Verbal and written communcations skills
・Computer literacy (MS Office..)

・Working knowledge of process controls, mechanical engineering and electrical controls
・Technical competency and familiarity with industrial equipment and technologies
・Native Level Japanese
・Business Level English
