What is the opportunity?

Join our Individual Pricing team as an Associate Director, where you will take a lead role in pricing and optimizing products like Disability insurance and Critical Illness. This position offers the chance to apply your actuarial expertise to shape sustainable and competitive product solutions in a dynamic market. Work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact business growth.

What will you do?

•Lead the development and pricing of Living Benefit products, ensuring alignment with company objectives

•Work as one Pricing team, lead various initiatives and projects for other product lines as required

•Conduct profitability analysis, sensitivity testing and risk assessments to support strategic decision-making

•Manage projects related to product pricing, ensuring deliverables are met and expectations are effectively communicated

•Collaborate with product development, valuation, underwriting to design competitive product offerings

•Monitor industry trends and emerging risks to inform product innovation and development

•Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth

What will you need to succeed?

Must Have:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a relevant fields and actively writing actuarial exams

•Minimum 5 years of actuarial work experience in Pricing, Product development, or related fields

•Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively

•Strong understanding of living benefits products, including disability insurance and critical illness

•Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and financial reporting standards, such as IFRS 17, and LICAT

•Familiarity with actuarial valuation, pricing methodologies, and insurance assumptions

Nice to Have:

•FSA Designation

•Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., VBA)

•Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Moody AXIS)

•Familiarity with reinsurance and risk management practices

•Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience in managing or supporting a team
