ASSOCIATE LAWYERS, LITIGATION & SOLICITOR

Fulton is one of BC’s oldest law firms and has a well-established, dynamic practice based in both Kamloops and Vancouver, BC. Fulton offers a wide range of legal services to individual, business and institutional clients across Canada, continuing our firm's longstanding tradition of excellence. 

We are currently seeking two Associates to join our Local Governmen t team in our Kamloops office. Since 1885, Fulton has provided a full spectrum of legal services to large, medium and small local governments across the province. Our growing practice encompasses all manner of issues affecting local governments, with expertise in both litigation work and solicitor work areas including: governance and procedures, bylaw drafting and enforcement, real estate, corporate and business law, workplace and human rights law, inter-governmental relations and negotiations, access to information and privacy protection, procurement and construction, business, negligence and nuisance disputes, land use and planning, codes of conduct and other ethical obligations, administrative law and risk management, among others.

Previous experience in Local Government Law is not required , as comprehensive mentoring and training is the cornerstone of Fulton’s tradition. The ideal candidates will possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, and have a passion to provide exceptional client service through strategic and innovative solutions. The successful candidate should be a one to five year call , a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, and possess:

  • Excellent advocacy and communication skills;
  • Effective client and practice management skills;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to navigate complex legal and factual issues; and
  • An ability to work collaboratively with lawyers, staff and clients.
