Job Description

NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of critical components for aerospace and defense applications, including nuclear pressure vessel components and engine thrust links. Our commitment to excellence extends through our commercial aerospace and military aircraft projects. We are seeking a highly experienced Automation Manager to lead our automation projects.

This role oversees the development, implementation, and optimization of automated systems to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and quality. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and executes automation strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Manages automation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Works with various departments to assess automation needs and integrate automated systems seamlessly.
  • Supervises and/or performs the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Ensures compliance with industry regulations and company quality standards.
  • Stays updated on advancements in automation technology and implements best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in automation, particularly in project management and leadership roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automated system design, robotics, control systems, and relevant software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing complex systems and developing automation solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in robotics and motion control, including PLC programming discrete I/O protocols and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Expertise in data acquisition and management, have broad knowledge common database management systems (e.g. SQL, MongoDB) and Power BI.
  • Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or production-related industries.
  • Expertise in research and development of automation technology capabilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Automation Professional (CAP).
