Job Description

Here at Johnston Davidson Architecture, we pride ourselves on civic work that helps benefit the community and provides a strong foundation for the community's growth – and we are looking to add a Business Development Coordinator to our team here in Vancouver! 

We are looking for individuals who would like to participate in the business aspect of an architecture firm in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, by assisting in the creation of proposals, marketing leads, and other business development needs. This role engages your creative writing skills, and attention to detail and challenges your time management skills to ensure RFP deadlines are met. This role is also multi-faceted with a variety of opportunities and tasks – in short, there are never any dull moments. As the title suggested, this position also involves working within the firm’s current strategic business plan to increase development opportunities externally and internally.

If you believe this is you, you would be responsible for:

  • Lead the proposal development process, including creating RFP summaries, coordinating with various stakeholders (internal & external), drafting and ensuring contents align with the RFP document, and managing deadlines to ensure that proposals are submitted on time
  • Research future RFP opportunities through various information channels
  • Assist in marketing the firm to strategically position the firm
  • Coordinate and organize various marketing activities such as submission of architectural awards, public advertisements, etc.
  • Update the company website to post new project work, awards, and other similar content through the back-end dashboard
  • Participate and help provide support in various business decisions, including but not limited to, job hiring, strategic business decisions, and other various internal business operations

While we do not require all the qualifications, the best candidate to represent JDa would have:

  • Graduated with a business degree in relations to General Business Management, Marketing, Strategic Analysis, and/or related major
  • Previous experience working in an office setting for a minimum of one year
  • Strong Adobe skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Strong Microsoft software skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) 
  • Good work ethic and enthusiasm for working as a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized with good interpersonal skills
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Looking to build their career

Salary Range: $60K to $70K
