Description Our Client prides themselves on not just handling claims, but crafting resolutions! They are seeking an experienced and collaborative Claims Adjuster to join the team.
This position will be handling a majority of casualty claims (slip and falls) as well as some auto and accident benefit claims. Their mission is to deliver top-tier customer service from start to finish, weaving through the intricacies of loss investigation, coverage evaluation, claim negotiation, and ultimate settlement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to - Coverage determination, investigation, negotiation, and settlement of claims
- Timely and effective contact with insureds, third parties, adjusters, and lawyers in order to establish a right and equitable settlement.
- Clear and concise communication with all involved parties
- Participate in mediations, hearings & trials (occasional travel may be required)
- Maintaining awareness and understanding of current case law and coverage trends
- Regular exchange of information/communication between departments as it pertains to the risk.
Required qualifications - At least 5 years experience in a similar role
- An intuitive mind
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills required
- Ability to problem solve, self-motivated and work independently but able to collaborate in a team environment
- Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology
- Extensive knowledge of Legal & Arbitration system
- Post Secondary Education preferred
- Completion of CIP designation or similar would be an asset
