The Bloom Group
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
The Bloom Group invites applications for the appointment of Chief Executive Officer.
The Bloom Group responds to the most urgent needs of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (“DTES”), Westside and, through its Adult Guardianship Program, elsewhere in British Columbia. They embrace transformative solutions for resolving pressing and complex challenges, filling the gaps in areas that are critical to building a resilient community.
Since 1961, The Bloom Group has led many of our community’s most progressive social services to reduce homelessness, provide end-of-life care for individuals with mental health challenges and addictions, ensure women-led families in crisis can stay together as they rebuild their lives, and much more. Their ‘low-barrier’ services are inclusive and available to all individuals in need, regardless of their circumstances and without conditions. Their broad and positive impact reflects their staff’s hard work and dedication. The Bloom Group strives to find solutions to end poverty and homelessness. Their services meet the immediate needs of individuals, while systematically building a foundation that strengthens community sustainability. They put ideas into practice, implementing innovative, yet practical and scalable initiatives that redefine possibilities and catalyze long-lasting change. The Bloom Group collaborates with a wide circle of partners to share expertise and resources and affect broad change that would not be possible in isolation.
The Bloom Group comprises two charities, one that holds the organization’s real estate assets and the other that manages all operations. The Bloom Group employs over 200 people who “walk shoulder to shoulder” with over 3,000 of our province’s most vulnerable population. Since 1998, The Bloom Group has offered its Adult Guardianship Program under a trust and deposit business exemption from BC’s Financial Institutions Act; these activities are monitored by BC Financial Services Authority.

TBG seeks to change these systems and remove barriers to increase access and participation, especially for those who are marginalized, disadvantaged or oppressed.
TBG strives to be an organization that values and celebrates everyone’s life experiences, their voices and their histories.
