As a Claims Adjuster at Finning, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our business units by ensuring efficient claims handling and risk mitigation. You'll be at the forefront of tracking, investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling a variety of claims, all while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes.

Job Description:

  • Proactively protect against risks and identify ways to reduce and mitigate claims costs and expenses.
  • Drive efficiency and support positive outcomes throughout the life of the claim.
  • Manage the intake, tracking, and reporting of claims.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with investigative and other contractors as needed for claims investigation and handling.
  • Resolve claims efficiently through critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assist with assembling necessary documents and information to defend claims/potential claims.
  • Review insurance policies to confirm available coverage.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of claims handling and recommend policy/procedural changes to enhance claims handling and organizational risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5+) years of experience as a claims adjuster or adjudicator.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
  • Practical experience managing claims from initial intake to final resolution.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of claims handling best practices and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office technologies.

  • This position can be based out of either our Edmonton or Calgary office locations.
  • Hybrid role
  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • 5x2, Monday- Friday shift.
