Construction CAD Designer
Burlington (Hybrid)
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Construction CAD Designer to join the team. The CAD Designer will work with multi-disciplined engineering, design, and project teams in developing design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other related products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on design provided by engineers
o Utilize annotation for clarification
o Develop and read concrete steel structures drawings, as well as rebar fabrication details
o Collaborate with engineers and shop and construction operations to meet fabrication and constructability requirements.
Typical Design will Consist of:
o Concrete and Steel Structure Layout Plans
o Structural Specifications and Notes
o Rebar and Steel Structure Fabrication Drawings
o Rebar Design
o Assist with design tasks including structural modeling, detailing, bill of materials
o Understand & meet project schedule, and quality requirements with accuracy and efficiency
o Self-checks all work performed to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to internal review
o Actively assist in the delivery of a complete project. This may include phone or e-mail correspondence, attending meetings, and other project documents required for project completion
Education:
o Post Secondary Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or similar structural engineering
Requirements:
o 5 or more years of relevant CAD drafting design
o High proficient use of Autodesk AutoCAD
o Use of Revit or similar 3D software is a plus
o Ability to read and interpret concrete, rebar, and steel structural designs
o Experience with reinforced concrete and steel structures
o Understanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflows
o Knowledge of project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
o Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
