Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance/CFO, the Director of Finance will oversee the finance function, including financial reporting and FP&A. This is a building role -- we're looking for someone keen to take on the challenge of revamping the finance function and building out a world-class department.

The role is hybrid with three days in our Markham office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of Finance and the finance team to prepare annual financial statements.
• Provide oversight of the finance function, encompassing financial reporting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports are delivered accurately and on time to senior management and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve financial processes and the finance department to adapt to past acquisitions and organizational changes.
• Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures in line with ASPE standards as well as other applicable regulations.
• Engage with business leaders to facilitate financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
• Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts to ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity to meet its obligations and align cash flow predictions with actual cash positions.
• Partner with the business to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a key liaison with Company's external auditors, working alongside the Head of Finance and Finance Managers to manage the annual audit process.
• Prepare and analyze presentation materials for discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure compliance with Canadian and US sales tax and corporate tax obligations.
• Assist in the implementation of the consolidated ERP system with Microsoft Business Central.
• Monitor compliance with debt covenants, ensuring all requirements are met to prevent breaches.

Qualifications

• CPA designation
• Big 4 firm experience a requirement
• Experience leading a team
• Experience with GAAP and ASPE reporting
• Experience putting processes and controls in place from scratch
• Experience working with the healthcare technology industry an asset
