What is a Domain Consultant?

As a Domain Consultant for Network Security Transformation, you will be a pre-sales role providing technical support and guidance to customers on their network security and zero trust implementations. You will play a key role in defining technical solutions to protect our customers' critical business requirements. You will communicate our industry leadership in on-premise, cloud and security services, and drive to establish Palo Alto Networks as your cybersecurity partner.

Key Job Duties

Work with the sales team to propose solutions to customers in your assigned area

Deliver expert presentations to all levels of customers, from field technical personnel to executives

Lead and support demonstrations that communicate our value to the fullest

Lead technical validation projects for customers and partners to ensure technical wins based on best practices

Design solutions to strengthen and simplify customer security posture

Document high-level designs and key use cases to ensure Palo Alto Networks solutions are properly deployed and deliver value

Lead discussions on industry trends and changes in the security landscape

Highlight and explain how our products fit with customer requirements and provide competitive advantages

Serve as the primary technical contact for network security to assist and coordinate responses to RFIs/RFPs

Recommend services offered by Palo Alto Networks and partners to ensure proper deployment and value realization

Accurately explain competing products in the market and communicate why our solutions are the best choice

Have deep domain expertise and utilize extensive technical knowledge

Qualifications



Required

qualifications

6+ years of experience in pre-sales/sales engineering in Zero Trust, networking, network security, SaaS security, or SSE/SASE

L2-L4 networking knowledge (L2 switching architecture (spanning tree, VLAN/trunking), IP routing (static route, OSPF, BGP, route redistribution), L4 load balancing, etc.)

Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities

A strong will to collaborate with customers and solve their problems

Solid understanding of NGFW (next-generation firewall), network security, SASE, SD-WAN, CASB, proxy, DLP, BYOD solutions

Advanced knowledge of on-premise and cloud-based network security technologies

This is a field sales position and may require travel for face-to-face meetings with customers (please discuss details with your recruiter)

Understanding Japanese business practices and the ability to communicate and present fluently in Japanese (native level or JLPT N1 or above).

Reading and writing English.
