Job Title: Draftsman

Salary: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour (Based on experience)

About the Role:

We are hiring a skilled Draftsman on behalf of our client, a reputable cabinet-making company in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The selected candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for custom cabinetry, millwork, and woodwork manufacturing projects . The ideal candidate will have strong CAD software skills and a solid understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and construction methods.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Drafting & Design:

• Create 2D and 3D technical drawings for custom cabinetry, millwork, and woodwork projects.
• Work closely with designers, engineers, and production teams to develop accurate and functional drafts.
• Modify and revise drawings based on project changes or client feedback .

Software & CAD Modeling:

• Utilize AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, SolidWorks, or other CAD software to generate precise drawings.
• Develop and maintain design libraries and technical documentation .
• Convert sketches, rough concepts, and specifications into detailed shop drawings.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, woodworking best practices, and company guidelines .
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications for accuracy.
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues related to wood joinery, finishes, and hardware .

Collaboration & Communication:

• Coordinate with production teams, project managers, and clients to finalize designs.
• Interpret client needs and project requirements into detailed technical plans.
• Maintain accurate records of project documentation for future reference.

Work Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts (Day, Evening, and Weekend availability may be required).
• Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Woodworking, or a related field .
• Open to applicants from inside and outside Canada .
• No French language requirement.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in drafting, CAD design, or woodwork-related projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, SolidWorks, Revit, or other woodworking CAD software .
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, cabinetry designs, joinery techniques, and woodworking materials .
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, hardware selection, and cabinet construction methods .
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently .
