MAIN PURPOSE
R esponsible for defining and implementing Dunhill’s Visual Merchandising strategy in Japan across all channels of distribution, ensuring consistency and high visual standards that are representative of the brand image, while focusing on delivering profitable business drivers within our fastest growing channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Merchandisers to ensure key investments, business drivers, sell through targets are considered and pushed in VM Create visually compelling communication tools inclusive of project recaps, VM directive sharing and Photo reports for global HQ team
- Flexible, solutions oriented with the ability to solve merchandising challenges creatively while remaining on-brand.
- Partner with Regional Commercial GM on planning of all Store Openings, renovations, high profile projects in their markets ensuring all projects prepared and vetted before executed Act as a proactive force in developing the business, leveraging visual merchandising to drive sales
- Innovative creative designer who understands the retailer and business needs.
- Build collaborative relationships with retail partners, display vendors, engineers, and multiple internal and external, and cross functional teams.
- Partner closely with Executive Leadership and Retail Events on budget, timing, scheduling, on-counter dates for merchandising tools, and works to manage issues as they arise.
- Identify and improve efficiencies and value engineering.
- Creative solutions oriented with experience with retailer's processes, approvals, restrictions, and schedules.
- Finetune Global concepts to support regionally relevant VM initiatives and oversee the development, training and execution of merchandising guidelines and communication for Market Japan.
- Lead regional VM's on the development of new door merchandising layouts and schematics.
- Monitor and evaluate all VM initiatives in terms of sales, feasibility and profitability.
- Conduct routine market visits to review, assess and monitor issues, progress and opportunities pertaining to VM initiatives.
- Provide tailored coaching and guidance to existing Visual team members to achieve consistent Visual excellence
- Respect Dunhill Brand standards in terms of grooming and behaviours Follow the company’s policies and procedures
- Ability to present to and influence Senior Management.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- 8+ years of retail industry Visual Merchandising experience preferably in luxury fashion with strong specialty multi- channel background.
- BS or BA in Architecture, Interior Design or Industrial Design, Store Design and Visual Merchandising.
- Fluency in English and Japanese
- Excellent organizational skills, quality execution, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills are a must.
- Flexible team player with the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Self-starter with exceptional project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately to cross functional partners.
- Ability to present and influence all levels of management.
- Inspiring leadership and management skills.
- Skills: Technical drawings, 3D renderings, project management, strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, detail oriented, strong multi-tasking skills.
- Useful Software Skills: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop, Sketchup, Vector works, Rhino.
