Job Description

Kenilworth Media has an immediate opening for a savvy Editor who is committed to making the publication their own and is driven to becoming the face of the magazine.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, responsibilities of this hybrid position in Richmond Hill, ON, include:

• Managing all facets of the day-to-day editorial process,
• Developing and securing editorial specific to the needs of readers. This includes writing and editing content for print and online products,
• Attending industry events, as required,
• Liaising with production and design teams in a highly structured environment to assist in the timely production and design of the publication,
• Posting content to publication website,
• Posting content to social media platforms,
• Proven expertise in growing a magazine’s online and print presence.

What you will bring:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in English, Journalism, or Communications,
• A minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant editorial capacity,
• Excellent research, writing, and editing abilities using Chicago, CP, and AP styles,
• Proven track record of meeting stringent deadlines,
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage a small editorial team,
• Superior organizational, time management, and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service,
• Proficiency in all major business software applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel),
• Proficiency with social media platforms (X, Facebook, LinkedIn) and WordPress,
• Familiarity with contact management software an asset,
• Experience using website analytics to drive online content strategies,
• Must be available to travel and work evenings or weekends, as needed,
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
