Teach in Taiwan: English Teacher & Teaching Assistant Roles

Location: Taiwan (Multiple cities across the country)

Languages Canada is a national non-profit and a Recognized Organization under the Government of Canada’s International Experience Canada (IEC) program . We help Canadian youth (ages 18–35) explore the world through exciting work and travel opportunities. As part of our outbound mobility program, we’re thrilled to offer placements in Taiwan for English Teacher & Teaching Assistant roles.

Are you a recent grad or an experienced educator looking to teach abroad and immerse yourself in a new culture? Whether you're an experienced licensed teacher or just starting out, there’s a place for you!

ENGLISH TEACHER ROLE

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach up to 20 classes/week alongside local teachers
  • Plan lessons, evaluate students, and create an immersive English environment
  • Engage in school-wide activities, events, and professional development

Eligibility:

  • Be eligible under International Experience Canada ( see government requirements )
  • Native English speaker
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

One of the following:

  • A valid state-issued teaching license OR
  • TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification (min. 120 hrs) OR
  • 1+ year of relevant teaching/assistant experience in an eligible setting

Salary & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary: NT$67,840–104,020 (approx. $2,950–$4,520 CAD )
  • Round-trip airfare reimbursement : up to NT$40,000 each way (approx. $1,740 CAD )
  • Housing stipend : up to NT$5,000/month (approx. $215 CAD ) or NT$10,000/month for families (approx. $430 CAD )
  • Performance bonus : up to 1 month’s pay
  • National Health Insurance, Labor Insurance & Pension included
  • Full support from your designated school and TFETP staff

ENGLISH TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE - Ideal for newer graduates and aspiring educators!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist up to 20 classes/week in English classes
  • Support extracurricular activities and school projects
  • Prepare materials and help co-create lesson content

Eligibility:

  • Native English speaker
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Police clearance issued within the last 6 months

Salary & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary: NT$50,000 (approx. $2,170 CAD )
  • Round-trip airfare reimbursement : up to NT$40,000 each way (approx. $1,740 CAD )
  • Housing stipend : up to NT$26,000/year (approx. $1,130 CAD )
  • TESOL/TEFL/CELTA course reimbursement : up to NT$55,000/year (approx. $2,390 CAD )
  • Transportation reimbursement : up to NT$3,000/year (approx. $130 CAD )
  • National Health Insurance, Labor Insurance & Pension included
