Job Description

Are you an experienced front-end software developer looking for a new position in a centrally located Downtown Vancouver office? This is a chance to join a team of software developers, and focus your energy on developing front-end features for a series of popular web applications.

The role is focused on front-end, client-side development, using some of the latest web frameworks, including next.js. This role is suitable if you have been developing complex web interfaces for several years. Based on your level of experience, you may also provide guidance and mentorship to other developers on the front-end team.

This is a full-time position that includes a competitive base salary, extended health and dental benefits, and paid vacation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with several other experienced software engineers, who have been in the software industry for many years. This means you’ll have the chance to exchange best practices and techniques with your teammates. The current team is a good mix of experienced developers and some developers who are earlier in their careers.

In this job you will be exposed to a good mix of technologies and programming languages. Your primary focus will be on client-side development using TypeScript with next.js and react.js. You will also be working closely with back-end developers to develop services and compatible APIs between application tiers.

Requirements

Here are some of the items that you'll bring to the table for this role:

• You have recent, hands-on experience with a mainstream JavaScript library, such as next.js, react.js, etc.
• You have good knowledge of object-oriented programming fundamentals (preferably with TypeScript), enabling you to work effectively with other members of the team who focus on server-side coding
• You have three or more years of experience working on commercially-released software applications
• You are in the Vancouver area, and you can easily commute to the office in downtown Vancouver
