Job Description

As the company's occupational health and safety specialist, the incumbent's mandate is to support all managers in OHS matters, with the aim of achieving zero workplace accidents. He/she collaborates with Arbec internal (management, engineering, production, maintenance) and external partners. The incumbent reports to the Superintendent, Human Resources.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

• Participate in the development and implementation of OHS strategies, training programs, procedures and tools;
• Ensure compliance with the various OHS-related laws, codes and regulations in force;
• Develop tools, improvement processes and communications to facilitate OHS management;
• Carry out regular audits;
• Act as the employer's representative at various JHSC meetings.
• Keep the risk inventory up to date;
• Using various mechanisms, support managers in rigorously and diligently controlling the workplace and promoting the development of safe attitudes and behaviors;
• Support managers in accident investigation and analysis, and follow up on action plans
• Take charge of and coordinate OHS prevention actions;
• Prepare various reports and monitor key performance indicators.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

• University degree in health and safety combined with extensive experience in the field;
• Teaching skills;
• In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations;
• Minimum 7 years' relevant experience, including 5 years in an industrial environment;
• Autonomy and sense of responsibility;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written;
• Analytical mindset, rigor, method and work organization.
