Job Description

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator

Our client, a leading organization in the industrial sector, is seeking an HSE Coordinator to support the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs. This role is ideal for a safety-focused professional with a proactive approach to risk management and compliance, particularly within construction or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee HSE programs to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Deliver occupational health & safety training and ensure employees adhere to safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update critical safety documentation, including Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and Job Procedures (SJPs).
  • Facilitate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and liaise with regulatory bodies.
  • Track and report on key safety performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support new employee orientations with a focus on workplace health and safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a health and safety role within a construction or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification preferred.
  • Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with safety management systems.
