Horizon Health Network in is looking for a Vascular Surgeon to join our team in Fredericton, New Brunswick!
Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a dedicated, dependable, passionate, and qualified Vascular Surgeon to join the Department of General/Vascular Surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a collaborative environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide safe and quality patient care.
This role will be based at The Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH) in Fredericton, New Brusnwick. The DECRH is a level 2 Trauma Centre and regional referral hospital with 314 beds and a 9-bed closed intensive care unit, serving a catchment population of approximately 175,000.
The DECRH provides undergraduate and graduate education experience for approximately 20 health disciplines. It is a certified partner of the Dalhousie University Family Medicine program, the University of New Brunswick nursing program, and hosts medical students from Memorial University and Dalhousie University in an innovative longitudinal clerkship program.
A $250 million project to provide a state-of-the-art environment for maternal and newborn, intensive care, surgical care, day surgery, ambulatory procedures, phlebotomy, and health records service is underway.

Who you are
You have a worked as a Vascular Surgeon for a minimum of 1 year.
You possess a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of General Surgery with a focus in Vascular Surgery.
You must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
The Department of General/Vascular Surgery requires that members practicing Vascular Surgery be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with subspecialty certification in Vascular Surgery from an accredited program to be eligible for active membership. Candidates with Royal College eligibility may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
What you will do
Reporting to the General/Vascular Surgery Department Head and the Medical Director for the area, the Vascular Surgeon collaborates with other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered, Nurses, and other Allied Medical Staff.
