Human Resources Business Partner/Recruiter – Bilingual

Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

H&R Block Canada, the leader in the tax preparation industry in Canada for 60 years, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bilingual Human Resources Business Partner/Recruiter to join our team.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRPB) reports to the Manager, Human Resources and Health and Safety and will provide comprehensive HR and Recruitment support and guidance to our Corporate Departments and Field Leaders and Field employees with regards to employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, succession planning, HR policies and compliance, recruitment, employee engagement surveys and leading small HR projects and initiatives.

The HRBP collaborates closely with business leaders to understand their needs and align HR strategies with overall business objectives and provide change management support for new initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • May have an opportunity to develop, present, and evaluate some HR corporate training programs to meet the needs of the business with a special focus on leadership skills and DEIB.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, conducts thorough and unbiased workplace investigations, and ensures that all employee issues and investigations are well documented.
  • Works closely with management and employees to provide coaching on performance management, career growth/succession planning and assist with resolving workplace issues.
  • Develops and reviews HR policies annually and offers guidance and interpretation on HR policies to ensure compliance.
  • Analyzes HR trends and metrics, leading to the development of effective HR solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Assists leaders with change management when implementing new processes and initiatives.
  • Assist the Manager of HR and Health and Safety with any Health and Safety matters that may arise.
  • Recruitment of great talent for corporate positions.
  • Stays updated of provincial employment legislations to ensuring compliance.

Education and Experience:

  • Possesses a degree in Human Resources and a minimum of 5 years or experience as an HR Generalist and Recruiter, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Experience within a Health and Safety Committee would be an asset.
  • First Aid and Fire Warden experience would be an asset.
