Job Description

CES Energy Solutions is a dynamic and growing North American oilfield services company listed on the TSX as CEU with revenue of over $2 billion. It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life cycle of the oilfield.

The CES Energy Solutions lab is the newest and one of the best equipped labs in the industry. We are located in Calgary, AB. Our lab is equipped with a wide range of equipment including: Particle size analysis, FTIR, NMR, Spinning drop tensiometer, GC, HPLC, Scale Loop, Friction Loop, XRD and EDX/SEM.

Working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, the duties of the Chemist include :

  • Service work (sampling and sample preparation, measuring and recording fluid parameters, analyzing results, data reporting, investigation and troubleshooting, multi-tasking).
  • Technical support to operations, engineering and sales teams.
  • Product Development (evaluate new technology, product formulation, method development).
  • New instrument setup, maintenance and calibration.
  • On-call and up to 10% travel required.

The right candidate will have a proven track record encompassing the following qualifications and skills :

  • BSc in chemistry, petrochemical, or related discipline.
  • Lab and/or field technical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 1+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong chemical background.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
