What you can expect:
We currently have an opening in our Vancouver office for a Full-Time Permanent General Litigation LAA in our busy general litigation department. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking, detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills.
Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:
· Opening and closing files
· Drafting correspondence
· Acting as a liaison between client, lawyer and opposing counsel
· Requesting medical and employment records, as well as other document requests
· Electronic filing of documents
· Managing time entry, expense reports, monthly billing and reporting to clients
· Basic accounting (paying disbursements and invoicing)
· Organizing files, binders, client documents and other file related materials
· Maintaining a bring forward system
· Organizing the calendar of the assigned lawyer(s), booking appointments, trials and discoveries
· Preparing List of Documents
· Other administrative tasks as required
What we are looking for:
· Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from a recognized program
· At least 2 years previous administrative experience
· Previous experience in a law firm an asset
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Excellent computer skills (MS Word and Outlook)
· Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Compensation:
The typical salary range for this position is $57,000-$63,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills/knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
