Job Description

About the Company

A well-established and respected law firm located in the West End is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft legal correspondence, court documents, pleadings, and briefs
  • File documents electronically through Ontario’s court filing systems
  • Manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, and trial dates
  • Coordinate service and filing of legal documents
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files
  • Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, and client meetings
  • Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
  • Provide administrative support to Litigators

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Litigation
  • Diploma or certificate in legal administration or law clerk program
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Ontario court systems
  • Proficiency with legal document formatting and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience using legal practice management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high level of accuracy
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
