Job Description
Key result areas and main responsibilities:
- Overall trade related procedures to be handled and controlled with a high sense of laws, regulations and Richemont compliance and provide ongoing support to Maisons needs.
- Monitor/manage of optimum duties in conformity with a law (article 19, article 11, EPA, etc.).
- Proper vendor management.
- Build/value teamwork and create trust for smooth operations with Maisons, team members, related other teams, vendors and HQ.
Job responsibilities:
Operation Management
- Import management of all types of items including finished products, display materials, packaging, store furniture, and other commercial/noncommercial products to be imported by Richemont.
- Drive daily import operations, communicate with stakeholders, verify import documents, customs clearance instructions, control the schedule, resolve issues related to delays, damage, or discrepancies, control billing invoices and deferred duty and tax payment application, and appropriate document storage.
- Daily communication with Maisons and provide necessary support in a timely manner.
- Instruct and consult to customs brokers to apply the customs declaration with the most effective way in terms of duty saving/reducing by using knowledge of the Customs Tariff Act, FTA/EPA.
- Verify and consult customs brokers for CITES, Food contact and other regulation related items to provide the appropriate information to the stakeholders.
- Monitor and review vendor performance and collaborate with vendors for improvement in quality and pricing.
- Review and analyze the accuracy of the import declaration, duty savings, and EPA errors to report to HQ.
Team Management
- Review and optimize the operation assignment within the team and bring the best performance of each staff.
- Support team staff to perform smooth import process and educate team staff on necessary skills and knowledge.
- Implement and update operation manual for new and current processes to standardize the operation within the team.
- Oversee the daily operation of the team and provide necessary advice to avoid risks and problems.
- Support goal setting and evaluate the performance of each staff.
- Manage temporary employees.
Requirements:
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Over 5 years of experience at Import and export operation. International fashion, luxury, or other similar retail industries are preferred.
- Experience also in a freight forwarding company is preferred.
- Strong customs related knowledge in
- Incoterms
- Deferred payment of duty and tax
- Harmonized tariff classification
- Duty saving/exemption (article 19 under the customs tariff law, article 11 and repair products, ATA CARNET, TQ, EPA, COO, etc.)
- Import regulations (CITES, Food Sanitation Act, etc.)
- Team management experience.
- SAP or similar experience
- Intermediate or higher skill of Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Japanese: Native level.
- English: Business level. Fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
- TOEIC 800+
