Engineering Manager – (Manufacturing) Trenton ON

Our client is on the hunt for a driven and seasoned Engineering Manager (Manufacturing) to take the lead of both the Manufacturing Engineering and Technical Services teams.

In this high-impact, strategic role, you’ll be at the forefront of operational excellence—championing Lean and Six Sigma practices, optimizing production workflows, and spearheading continuous improvement across a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do:

• Establish and execute departmental objectives in alignment with overarching company goals, with a focus on enhancing profitability and driving operational excellence.

• Provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership to engineering teams, supporting production operations and advancing throughput, quality, and overall efficiency.

• Develop, standardize, and implement engineering policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.

• Lead pre-design planning activities, including goal setting, budget development, and return-on-investment (ROI) analysis, to support sound decision-making and project viability.

• Oversee new product introductions from initial development through full-scale manufacturing integration, ensuring seamless transitions and time-to-market efficiency.

• Champion a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, DFMEA, and other proven methodologies.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to quality issues and customer concerns.

• Mentor and develop high-performing engineering talent, promoting a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous growth.

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring alignment with expectations and a high level of satisfaction.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing engineering environment, ideally within the medical device industry.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in plastics processing, including extrusion, injection molding, and over-molding, as well as familiarity with automation technologies.

• Strong working knowledge of Process FMEA, validation protocols, and methods for reducing process variability.

• Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and other relevant regulatory requirements (considered an asset).

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred), with proven application of continuous improvement methodologies.

• Strong mechanical aptitude paired with exceptional attention to detail in technical execution.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
