MARKETING & SPECIAL EVENTS ASSOCIATE

Are you a creative, skilled communicator; a detail-oriented planner; a team player and natural relationship builder?

Position Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Ottawa, ON (hybrid)

Language: English essential; French is an asset

Salary: $58,000 to $70,000 with healthcare benefits and pension (optional)

Requirements: Eligible to work in Canada, Police Records Check, Valid Driver’s License (G) and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes

Today is a highly-respected long-term care home that provides quality, person-directed care to 288 individuals on Riverside Drive.

ABOUT YOU

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Special Events Associate will embrace the opportunity to work in a team environment and commit to excellence in the execution of your responsibilities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIAL EVENTS

  • Develop a vision, work plan and budget for the Foundation’s signature events
  • Review and update the sponsorship package and other event collateral
  • Prepare print and digital marketing content for social media, website, email and in-house promotions
  • Build upon the success of past events by identifying new opportunities for corporate engagement, sponsorship and silent auction growth
  • Liaise with event partners, suppliers and guests throughout the lifecycle of the event
  • Organize and support committee meetings and its members to increase revenue, attendance, and ensure a positive return on investment
  • Organize and track registration, execute the event work plan, coordinate volunteers and event day logistics
  • Ensure fulfilment of sponsorship recognition, benefits and reports

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Develop and maintain a content calendar that aligns with the Foundation’s annual fundraising plan
  • Create content for all mediums to engage, inform and inspire donors and the broader community to get involved and actively support our Foundation
  • Demonstrate consistency in the use of brand colours, templates, and key messages
  • Assist in the identification and development of stories that bring St. Pat’s to life, highlight the programs and projects that we fund, and demonstrate impact

STEWARDSHIP & ADMINISTRATION

  • Write copy for thank you letters and other stewardship materials
  • Assist with donor recognition initiatives (e.g., donor wall updates, receptions)
  • Coordinate and assist with database entries, tax receipting, batch and revenue reports, etc.
  • Attend and take minutes at meetings of the Board of Directors, and assist with the development of meeting packages

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or college diploma in marketing, communications, event planning, revenue development, or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in content development, writing, fundraising and/or business development
  • Project management/organizational skills with the ability to work independently and deliver on multiple priorities and objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), content planning apps, and Wordpress
  • Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends as required
