MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our MongoDB environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of MongoDB databases, as well as supporting development teams with query tuning and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB instances.
• Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency.
• Backup and restore databases as needed.
• Manage replica sets, sharding, and scaling strategies.
• Ensure data integrity and security.
• Perform query optimization and indexing.
• Work closely with developers on schema design and data access best practices.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Ops Manager, Prometheus, etc.).
• Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture and administration.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas and on-premise deployments.
• Proficiency in query profiling, performance tuning, and indexing.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Basic knowledge of security best practices (authentication, authorization, encryption).
• Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in MongoDB (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA Associate).
• Experience with other NoSQL databases or RDBMS systems.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
