The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse (RN or RPN) to assist us with Paediatric home care clients in Brampton.

Shifts

• OVERNIGHT shifts, weekdays and weekends, FT hours available
• Candidates must be able to commit to an on-going, consistent, weekly schedule with no interruptions for the foreseeable future

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse
• Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
• Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
• Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
• Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
• Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
• Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
• correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure clients health and well-being

Requirements

• Must have complex care experience with:
• G-tube and J-tube feeding
• Tracheostomy care
• Suctioning (deep, oral, nasal)
  
  
• Preferred experience with:
• Oxgen therapy
• Invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Cough assist
• Heated High Flow/Airvo
• Seizure monitoring and management

• Other requirements include :
• Owning a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is an asset (not required).
• Negative TB test completed within the last year.
• Active CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate.
• COVID-19 vaccination receipts (subject to exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code).
• Valid Criminal Record Check (completed within the last year).
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Valid WHMIS 2015 certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators as needed.
