It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life cycle of the oilfield.

Sialco Materials Ltd. , the specialty chemical manufacturing division of CES Energy Solutions, is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Operator at our chemical plant in Delta, BC . This full-time employment role in covers a variety of functions and reports to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Ready to work on the weekend and night shift if needed.
• Follow procedures and documents the work in batch making which includes machine set-up, raw materials preparation, loading, reaction, packaging of finished products in totes, drums and pails, and clean up.
• Observes safety precautions to prevent fires and explosions.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunction.
• Records data from instruments and gauges concerning temperature, pressures and others.
• Follow safety and health procedures including proper use of PPE: goggles, gloves, and other apparatus required for the safe completion of the job.
• Ensure all equipment and workstations are in good working order and free of any safety hazards.
• Able to work courteously with others in a team environment.
• Other duties as required.

Required skillset:

• 3 years hands-on batch making experience, preferably in the chemical, food & beverage, or paint industry.
• Job requires some heavy lifting and must be able to stand for long periods of time, perform physical task and effectively work with handtools.
• Strong statistical analysis skill.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of assigned tasks.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Actively participate in the health and safety program.
• Able to perform minor maintenance is an asset.
