We are currently looking for a PASTRY CHEF de PARTIE to join our dynamic team at at FIVE SAILS RESTAURANT, located in the Pan Pacific Hotel. Our team delivers Vancouver's only Four Diamond dining experience in a charming and relaxed atmosphere. Where the city meets the harbor, and the land meets the sea.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
• Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies prepare and cook food on a regular basis
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Assist to recruit, hire and train staff
• Prepare and cook baked goods, pastries on a regular basis, for special guests and functions
• Prepare and cook baked goods, pastries or specialty foods
• Supervise kitchen workers
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• May plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Ability to communicate in English
• Minimum 3 years' experience

Education/Certification:

• Foodsafe certified or equivalent (within 1 week of employment)
• Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship, Red Seal and journeyman certificate or equivalent is preferred

***MUST HAVE FINE DINING EXPERIENCE***
