Position Summary:

The Payroll Analyst II, Canada is responsible for completing payroll processing and all aspects associated with it. The incumbent will review, reconcile, audit & balance payroll documents/files to ensure practices are following company policy as well as regulatory guidelines. The Payroll Analyst II, Canada is also responsible for providing customer service for all employees and third-party vendors associated with all aspects of payroll

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Processes payroll for Canadian employees, including handling immediate pay for terminations in accordance with provincial employment standards.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of transactions in Workday for new hires, job changes and compensation changes, terminations, withholding orders, direct depo sit, and timekeeping.
  • Reconciles errors and maintains payroll records.
  • Audits payroll data changes to ensure validity and accuracy.
  • Generates special off-cycle ” payroll runs for bonus checks and stock options as required.
  • Completes year-end balancing, year-end documents and annual filings.
  • Assist with testing of configuration changes in Workday.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Serves as a main point of contact for managers, associates, and internal staff regarding payroll related inquiries and concerns.
  • Performs other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Payroll designation with the National Payroll Institute, required
  • Communication skills, both oral and written in French and English, required
  • Previous experience processing payroll within a multi-national organization
  • Experience with HR systems, such as Workday
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and strong personal integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of collective agreements Experience with a unionized environment

Minimum requirements:

4-7 years of experience in payroll, finance, or related role.
