Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
PRIMARY FOCUS:
Process Optimization Lead has direct involvement in the Design, Efficiency, Maintenance and Failure Analysis of all Production Equipment. Possess a full working knowledge of operations in areas of facilities and field production operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Understand all internal Environmental Health and Safety Guidelines with full implementation of these into routine and non-routine work.
- Consult with Production Foreman for clarification on all internal and external regulations during the planning stages of routine and non-routine work.
- Participate in monthly group Safety/Production Meetings.
- Participate in Emergency Response Planning exercises as required.
- Participate in all site-specific Safety Audits, as required.
Facility and wellsite Design
- Direct involvement with Project DBM discussions to support decisions made on Vendor, Equipment design (P&ID’s), and IFA/IFC Drawing Reviews.
- Work in conjunction with other operating areas to identify unreliable equipment, research a solution and implement in existing facilities to ensure maximum reliability.
- Assist operations to troubleshoot or optimize process conditions when the facility conditions change.
- Failure Analysis on all equipment to minimize downtime and maximize reliability and on-stream time. (IE: Refridge Electric Motors, etc.)
- Vendor shop visits to review process piping, compressor runs, etc. to ensure the equipment will meet Production Operations requirements. The visits will include Lead or Designate, as dictated by the Production Foreman.
- For Vendor visits, document and create deficiency lists that are identified, reviewed with Facility Construction manager, Production Superintendent, and Production Foreman. Ensure all deficiencies are rectified.
- Involvement with HADID and HAZOP reviews.
- Assist with LTO inspections and hand over documentation.
- Verify car seal lists, and metering schematics.
Production
- Identify and communicate all equipment deficiencies in existing equipment, to Production Foreman and Lead Operator. Assist Lead Operator to rectify issues.
- Assist if required, the Lead Operators to develop and implement Maintenance Programs to ensure all equipment is maintained to meet Manufacturer’s recommendations, Tourmaline, and Government regulations. (IE: Quarterly/Yearly/Oil Changes/PSV’s/etc.)
- Directly involved with the Production Foreman and Lead Operator in the planning and scheduling of annual Facility Turnarounds of existing equipment.
- Involvement with the MOC Process; work in conjunction with Engineering, Production Operations to complete change as required in a timely fashion.
- Ensure MOC’s are completed and update Mars-Works with red line drawings as required.
- Works closely with the Production Engineer, Production Foreman, and Lead Operator to ensure equipment reliability, field production volumes and lifting costs are optimized.
- Support Field applications (Mars-Works, EZOps Power Apps) to include training and roll out if needed. Build new sites/reading sheets/schedules as required. Provide day-to-day assistance to operators as required. Update equipment details as they change (s/n updates when engines exchanged, equipment run status, panel hr. resets).
- Review / Update Armouree surplus equipment inventory as required.
Operating Costs
- Support Production Foreman, for costs associated with producing facilities equipment at assigned properties including annual forecast reviews as required.
- Authorize expenditures, (field work tickets) for assigned areas, as quoted.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 7 years of production / field experience in an operation background. A journeyman certificate or technical diploma would be an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Ability to organize people and resources for efficiency and success.
- Demonstrates a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Successfully uses time management tools (i.e., planners, computers).
- Able to analyze data, read P&ID’s, make appropriate recommendations, and communicate results clearly to others.
- Demonstrates commitment to HSER Policy’s and Procedures.
- Skilled with required software (CMMS, MS Excel, MS Word, Teams, MS Outlook, Scada, Power BI and Power Apps).
