The Position:

We are seeking a passionate individual who has experience and expertise managing a portfolio of international aid projects across the globe. The position requires you to be detail oriented, analytical, and problem-solve. You will be called upon to handle multiple projects, and you will be required to be able to effectively manage a heavy workload.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze proposals and proactively identify new program opportunities.Manage local and international aid projects from project initiation to project completion while ensuring that policies and processes are followed
  • Carry out the monitoring and evaluation of projects, providing feedback and suggestions for future improvements
  • Organize and maintain project folders and project communications
  • Work collaboratively with the Programs team to expand portfolios and advise on new strategies that align with our mission
  • Play a leading role in program design, for solicited and unsolicited projects, and for pilot and full scale projects
  • Help partners and country offices troubleshoot, prepare work plans and other programmatic deliverables, and provide surge support for project management
  • Research and evaluate potential local and international partners (e.g., due diligence processes) for proposal opportunities
  • Communicate with donors on program-related issues; prepare progress reports, situation reports, briefing notes as needed
  • Write impact reports and communication pieces for relevant audiences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Development, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience implementing and/or supporting international relief and development programs with experience travelling to the field
  • Must have capacity for both local and international travel and active legal documentation (passport / vehicle etc.)
  • Knowledge of CRA Charities Directorate rules and guidelines is an asset
  • Understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong representational skills, expertise in donor relations.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance of proposals to donor requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
  • Leadership and organizational skills with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Budget and financial management experience
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to act independently to identify and analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • Good habits of self-care to function well in stressful environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in English, preferred to speak other languages such as Arabic, Urdu, and French
