Job Description

A1 Imports is a Quebec-based SME that has been in business for 20 years. The primary goal of our procurement division is to build a win-win business relationship with Canadian companies by helping them solve procurement issues or reduce their supply costs. We offer a turnkey service to our clients: international product sourcing, samples, production tracking, logistics, customs clearance, and warehousing.

 

JOB OFFER: PURCHASING AND LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

 

We are looking for a highly trilingual, versatile, organized, and efficient individual to join our purchasing team. The work will take place at our head office in Bois-Des-Filion, in a completely renovated environment. The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator will oversee product procurement and delivery, negotiate contracts with suppliers, coordinate logistics to maintain optimal stock levels, and ensure that import documentation complies with current regulations. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain. RESPONSABILITIES:

· Create products and all products data in the ERP system;

· Enter and update product descriptions and specifications in the ERP system;

· Update supplier records;

· Assign Universal Product Codes (UPC) to new products;

· Generate purchase orders (PO) in the ERP system;

· Establish shipping labels for box identification;

· Ensure a variety of follow-ups, including registration dates and freight forwarder reservations;

· Negotiate the best prices and services with suppliers;

· Update the shipping report and order dates in the system to inform various departments of any potential delays;

· Collect necessary documents from suppliers and freight forwarders to facilitate customs clearance (import and export) and forward them to the customs broker;

· Request final payment from the accounting department and request the release of the order via Telex;

· Organize prompt pickup of the order at the local port with the freight forwarder, as well as scheduling for delivery to our distribution center;

· Once the goods have arrived at their destination, complete the receipt in the ERP system;

· Prepare documents such as delivery notes, certificates of compliance, etc. for the client when necessary;

· Perform any other related tasks;

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

· 2 to 3 years of experience in a role directly related to product imports, international trade, and purchasing coordination;

· Degree in procurement or supply chain management;

· Training in logistics and importation (import compliance and regulations);

· Trilingual: fluent in French, English and Chinese, both spoken and written – mandatory;

· Good knowledge of the Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) – mandatory;

· Experience with an ERP system – mandatory;

· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines;

· Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to obtain the best terms;

· Attention to detail and accuracy in document management and logistics process tracking;

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers, carriers and colleagues;

· Ability to quickly adapt to changes and proactively solve problems;

· Analytical skills to quickly identify and resolve supply chain issues;

· Commitment to meeting the needs of internal and external clients, ensuring high-quality service;

· Engaged, motivated team player determined to grow with the company in the long term.
