Job Description

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our mobile games testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the gaming industry, specifically overseeing QA for Free to Play mobile games. As a key member of our team, the Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and player experience on the product under development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality testing practices and effective teamwork.
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the QA team, assign tasks, and manage workload distribution to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the QA team, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • QA Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies, methodologies, and processes tailored to the unique requirements of mobile game development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including game designers, developers, and product managers to define testing objectives, priorities, and timelines for each project.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas of concern, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project deliverables.
  • Test Plan Creation
  • Collaborate with development QA testers and development teams to create detailed test plans, outlining test objectives, scope, methodologies, and acceptance criteria.
  • QA Execution and Oversight:
  • Oversee the end-to-end QA lifecycle, from test planning and execution to defect tracking and resolution, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead by example in conducting thorough and rigorous testing of mobile games, including functional, performance, compatibility, and regression testing.
  • Establish and maintain QA metrics and KPIs to track testing progress, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for QA-related matters, liaising with internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Communicate testing progress, issues, and recommendations to senior management and project stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on QA status and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution of defects and ensure alignment with project goals and quality objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in software testing or quality assurance are a plus.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in quality assurance, with a proven track record of overseeing QA operations on established mobile casual game IPs.
  • Strong expertise in mobile game development and testing, with a deep understanding of mobile platforms, devices, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of QA professionals.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices, with experience in agile and iterative development environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering flawless gaming experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise with test management tools.
  • Ability to overlap core work day with PST time zone
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.

  • Although this is a remote work 100% from home position we are looking for North American candidates due to time zone restrictions
