About the Founders and Engineering Executive:

Srinath Sridhar - CEO and Co-founder. Sridhar has a PHD from Carnegie Mellon and also has previously founded companies like Onera. He was among the first 100 engineers at Facebook and has also worked with Google and Bloomreach.

Matt Millen - Co-founder and president. Matt has rich experience in leading multiple companies as a CGO, CRO and VP Revenue. He has worked with multiple startups and has helped them build their growth story from the ground up.

John Zhang – Head of Engineering. John brings over 20 years of experience across top tech companies and high-growth startups. He has held executive engineering roles at Highspot and Weibo, where he led the Ads team, scaling it to 400 people and driving revenue to $1.5B. John has also co-founded several startups, including one that achieved a successful exit.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on QA Manager / Head of QA to lead and scale our quality engineering function. You’ll play a critical role in building a high-quality, high-velocity development environment by combining strategic leadership with practical execution. This role is ideal for a player-coach who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys building systems, teams, and processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, lead, and manage a blended team of manual QA contractors and SDETs, scaling quality efforts as the company grows
  • Serve as a hands-on player-coach, contributing directly to test automation and setting the technical standard for quality practices
  • Own and manage test management systems (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and define effective QA workflows across teams
  • Track and report QA metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage, execution time, escaped defects) to drive quality improvements
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks, and support engineers in improving automation coverage at the unit, integration, and functional levels
  • Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) automated tests for critical workflows
  • Oversee manual and automated regression test suites, ensuring adequate release coverage and stability
  • Define and enforce quality gates in CI/CD pipelines to balance speed and reliability
  • Own the release sign-off process, making go/no-go decisions based on test results, risk, and business priorities
  • Drive the overall test strategy, collaborating with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to embed quality early and often

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks
  • Solid programming or scripting skills (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar)
  • Proven experience building and scaling test frameworks , especially in fast-paced or startup environments
  • Strong understanding of test types (unit, integration, E2E) and experience supporting developers to increase test coverage
  • Experience managing and scaling test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and implementing quality gates
  • Track record of defining and using QA metrics to guide improvement and decision-making
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in SaaS and/or B2B software environments is preferred
  • Experience working with offshore or contract QA teams
  • Familiarity with release management processes in agile environments
