Harney District Hospital is seeking a Safety & Security Manager to join their team. This position is critical in providing oversight, expertise and management to the Safety and Security Services Department. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, the hourly wage starts at $25.77and increases based on experience. Required Skills and Abilities: MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge of principles, practices and applicable equipment related to occupational safety, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of standard occupational hazards related to healthcare environment including accident analysis and prevention techniques. Excellent written, verbal and public communication skills. Ability to perform detailed technical, safety, hazard and environmental research. Ability to develop and implement an effective safety, and hazard control program. Demonstrated experience in training, demonstrating and promoting safety in the work environment, preferably healthcare.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Must be eligible to apply for and maintain a current DPSST unarmed security certificate and Executive manager certification.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: College degree or coursework from an accredited college related to safety, or a field related to the work. Possession of a DPSST unarmed security certificate and/or DPSST executive manager certificate at time of hire.
Education and Experience Four years of experience in safety or injury prevention role or any satisfactory combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
