Job Description: Position Summary Hamilton College seeks a skilled Salesforce Administrator/Developer to join our Advancement Systems and Business Intelligence team. This position will play a key role in both administering and developing custom Salesforce solutions built on the ascend Salesforce Platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our Salesforce ecosystem, which includes Marketing Cloud, CRM Analytics, Blackthorn, Experience Cloud, Snowflake, and Workato. Additionally, Hamilton is currently implementing a campus-wide ERP system on Workday, providing an exciting opportunity for integration and innovation. Responsibilities: Salesforce Administration: Manage all aspects of user and license management, including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, and public groups. Handle user support tickets and provide technical support and training to end-users as needed. Identify and gather requirements from users and stakeholders, translating them into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience. Perform Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards, and reports. Monitor and improve user adoption, creating and maintaining documentation of processes, configurations, customizations, and integrations. Salesforce Development: Design, develop, and maintain customized Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce pages, and other Salesforce technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications. Seamlessly integrate Salesforce applications with third-party systems, including Blackthorn Events Management Platform, Snowflake Data Warehouse, and Workato Integration Platform. Develop and implement solutions across various Salesforce clouds, including Marketing Cloud, CRM Analytics, and Experience Cloud portals. Develop robust Apex code adhering to best practices and ensure high-quality standards through rigorous testing and debugging. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline required. Salesforce Platform Developer I and 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce Administration and Development preferred. A combination of equivalent certification and experience may be sufficient or enhance applications (such as Salesforce Administrator Certification) Demonstrated proficiency in Apex programming language, Visualforce development, and Salesforce configuration. Familiarity with the ascend Salesforce Platform is highly desirable. Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems such as Marketing Cloud, CRM Analytics (Tableau CRM), Blackthorn Payments/Events solutions, Experience Cloud communities/sites, Snowflake data platform, or Workato automation tools is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Able to effectively prioritize multiple projects and balance cross-functional stakeholders.
