About Our Client

Our client is a boutique law firm with offices in Oakville and Brampton, known for providing high-quality legal services across various practice areas. The firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Lawyer with strong experience in estate litigation and commercial/business disputes to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, Superior Court of Justice, and the Commercial List.
• Handle various litigation matters, including civil, commercial, and estate litigation.
• Manage complex disputes involving security enforcement, insolvency proceedings (e.g., receiverships and bankruptcies), and debtor/creditor issues such as guarantees, fraud, and transfers at undervalue.
• Lead litigation in business, shareholder, and construction lien disputes.
• Mentor and guide two junior lawyers, supporting their development and growth.
• Work toward potential advancement to Income Partner , based on performance and contribution to the firm.

Qualifications

• LLB or JD from a recognized Canadian law school (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in complex litigation, focusing on estate and commercial matters.
• Proven ability to manage files independently from start to finish.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume practice efficiently.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor junior team members.
