About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in power plant electrical systems , you will serve as the technical authority across our fleet, providing guidance, oversight, and direct support for electrical testing, inspections, and maintenance programs.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our power generation assets through proactive engineering leadership and hands-on technical involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical advisor and SME for electrical systems across the power plant fleet.
• Lead and perform electrical testing, diagnostics, and inspections on high and medium-voltage equipment.
• Develop, implement, and manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs for electrical systems and components.
• Analyze test data, equipment performance, and failure trends to recommend corrective actions or improvements.
• Support capital and maintenance projects by providing electrical engineering expertise from concept through execution.
• Review and develop electrical design documents, technical specifications, and system studies.
• Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and technologies, and ensure fleet compliance with applicable codes and practices.
• Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel and junior engineers.
• Travel to plant locations as required (approximately 20–30%).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on power generation systems.
• Deep knowledge of electrical systems in power plants, including protection systems, switchgear, transformers, and motors.
• Proven experience with electrical testing technologies (e.g., insulation resistance, power factor, breaker timing, thermography).
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools such as infrared thermography, motor circuit analysis, and partial discharge testing.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, NETA testing protocols, and OSHA requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed to support the fleet.
