Summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to join our Research and Development Team. In this role, you will:
• Own end-to-end feature development, from designing and building modern, intuitive UIs to developing mid-tier and database functionality using Java/Spring MVC and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions that incorporate the latest AI-driven functionalities.
• Innovate with a focus on driving an excellent user experience, leveraging your creativity, technical skills, and customer-centric mindset.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a seasoned developer who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex problems with robust, scalable, and elegant code.
Responsibilities
• Architect and Implement: Design and implement interactive front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSP, and JSTL, ensuring a seamless, responsive user experience.
• Mid-Tier Development: Drive back-end feature implementation using Java/Spring MVC, with an emphasis on code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Database Modeling: Model and develop data structures using Hibernate and PostgreSQL to create efficient and maintainable database schemas.
• Integrate AI: Incorporate agentic and AI-driven behaviors to enhance and personalize user interactions.
• Code Ownership: Own the full software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, documentation) while adhering to best practices in code review, version control, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, UX, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Optimize and Scale: Continuously identify areas for platform optimization (performance, security, usability) and drive improvements proactively.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise web applications in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Expertise
• Proficiency in core front-end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Practical experience with JSP, JSTL, Java EE, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases).
• Comfort with AI or agentic technologies is a plus, but not required.
Problem-Solving & Collaboration
• Track record of solving complex technical challenges with innovative and maintainable solutions.
• Strong experience troubleshooting cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and technical details to various audiences.
Professional Skills
• Ability to write high-performance, reusable code and follow coding best practices.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
