Job Title: SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)

Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week

We are looking for a highly skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong expertise in Java, REST API testing, and automation frameworks. This role requires hands-on experience in developing and executing automated test scripts, API validations, and integration testing to ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with framework development, test automation strategies, and working in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute automated test scripts for Java-based applications, ensuring high test coverage.
• Conduct REST API testing using Rest Assured or validating API responses, performance, and integrations.
• Design and implement efficient XPath/CSS locators for web UI automation, ensuring stability and maintainability.
• Work with Selenium WebDriver to automate front-end testing and enhance automation frameworks.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks, utilizing Maven, TestNG, and Cucumber as part of automation stack.
• Perform Ops gating, integration testing, and test automation to streamline the CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to identify and resolve testing challenges.
• Ensure best practices in test automation, API validation, and framework optimization.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience in Java development and test automation.
• Expertise in API testing using tools like Rest Assured or
• Ability to write XPath/CSS locators, ensuring accurate element identification for automation.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Maven, TestNG, and Cucumber.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of software testing principles, test case design, and automation best practices.
• Experience in integration testing and operational gating, ensuring seamless system performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, collaboration, and communication abilities.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with performance testing and API monitoring tools.
• Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms and containerized environments.
• Understanding of security testing methodologies for APIs and web applications.
