About the role:

As a Senior Product Designer at Accelerant, you will lead user-centered design efforts from research to execution. In our fast-paced, startup-like environment, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft intuitive, impactful experiences that address real-world challenges. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring designs are highly functional with pixel-perfect UI. You’ll contribute to our design system and play a key role in shaping the product experience from zero to one and enhancing existing features.

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead user research & discovery: Plan and facilitate interview-style user research and discovery in partnership with product management to uncover user needs from a variety of stakeholders to inform new feature decisions or enhance existing features.

• Drive design execution: Create high-fidelity UI designs with precision, ensuring intuitive usability, flexibility and accessibility adherence, that aligns across the platform experience. You love the design process of creating user flows, wireframing, high-fidelity pixel-perfect UI to prototyping.

• Facilitate stakeholder workshops: Run collaborative sessions to gain alignment, extract insights, and refine design solutions. Lead design thinking workshops and help to guide, improve, and implement design and feedback processes.

• Innovate & iterate: Bring a startup mindset, experimenting with new ideas and iterating based on feedback and data. Contribute to a Design System: Build, refine, or maintain a design system to ensure consistency and scalability.

• Influential storytelling: Articulate design rationale clearly, influencing teams and stakeholders through compelling storytelling, supportive visuals and metrics.

• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work seamlessly with product managers, engineers, and other designers to bring ideas to life.

• Balance Strategy & Execution: See the big picture holistically while executing with meticulous attention to detail within a feature or project.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience: 8+ years in product design, with a track record of successful product launches.
• User research expertise: Hands-on experience conducting qualitative research, interviews, and usability testing.
• Design System knowledge: Experience building or contributing to design systems.
• Visual & interaction design: Strong skills in UI/UX, with a portfolio showcasing high-quality, data-driven designs.
• Workshop facilitation: Ability to lead structured workshops to drive alignment and gather insights.
• Startup mindset: Comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving environment with a collaborative, figure-it-out attitude.
• Storytelling & communication: Ability to present ideas effectively and inspire action and alignment.
• Metrics-driven thinking: Familiarity with measuring design impact through qualitative and quantitative metrics.
• Tools : Proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools.
• Appetite for innovation: Adopt emerging tools and leverage AI-driven solutions to boost creativity, efficiency, and collaboration. Sharing and materializing ideas that disrupt the insurance industry.

It's preferred if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience in the insurance or fintech industry.
• Experience designing AI-powered products or data-driven applications.
• Background in process-driven and task-oriented application design.
• Strong prototyping skills, creating interactive, high-fidelity prototypes.
• Experience contributing to or managing a research repository.
