Job Description
DESCRIPTION
Three years after its business launch, Amazon's first party security brand "Ring" is entering a new phase in JP. We are seeking a hands-on Sr. Product Manager who will be responsible for the roadmap of products and services. Beyond launching existing products and services, the roll will pursue what constitutes the best solution for Japanese customers, effectively engaging global stakeholders while managing projects to develop products from scratch specifically for Japan. The ideal candidate stays customer obsessed and will deeply understand customers, identify their true needs including latent ones, and lead the development of strategically unique security services and products based on business strategy. The roll will develop new value propositions and solutions and orchestrate launch plans to enhance the safety and security of our Japanese customers, resulting in long term business optimization.
As a natural leader, the right candidate will be comfortable with executive interactions, be an excellent communicator, passionate advocate, and creative professional. You will build and inspire a positive, high-energy, results-oriented culture in our team, creating a measurable impact across Ring and the wider industry landscape.
Key job responsibilities
- Design short, medium, and long-term growth strategies for all Ring services and products to provide solutions that create a safer and more secure environment for customers.
- Develop a deep understanding of segments in Japan for both doorbell and security camera categories using qualitative and quantitative data, understand differences from other countries, and identify customer needs and current pain points.
- Lead projects to launch products deemed necessary for Japanese customers by analyzing their scalability, feasibility, and growth potential, even if they are not on the global GTM roadmap. This includes developing required knowledge and skills, creating PRFAQs, negotiating with stakeholders, and conducting meetings.
- Stay constantly aware of the latest global GTM roadmap, align it with Japan's business growth strategy, and develop launch strategies for Japan. When necessary, negotiate with domestic and international stakeholders to execute these strategies.
- Develop product growth strategies for both online and offline channels in Japan through deep insights into sales trends by channel.
- Become an advocate who passionately communicates about brands, products, and services to engage with external business partners, partners, and media necessary for business growth.
- Work with the global marketing team to localize creative assets necessary for launches.
- Respond flexibly and strategically to ongoing plan changes.
A day in the life
- Stay attuned to new services and news in the industry daily, paying close attention to changes in customer needs and the competitive landscape. While monitoring the most up-to-date roadmap and launch projects for changes or issues, and considering what should be done to deliver more value to customers, you will work hands-on and get your hands dirty.
- Ring is a highly global organization, and most of your stakeholders are located overseas. You will likely have morning meetings with US teams and evening meetings with EU teams. However, working in this diverse environment isn't too challenging in terms of finding work-life harmony, as all colleagues are very cooperative and considerate of each other.
About the team
Ring expects ambitious growth from its members to make our neighborhoods safer. At the same time, as a brand, we provide maximum support possible to help you achieve your career goals. As our business in Japan is still in a growth phase, those who wish to experience roles beyond this position in the future will have various growth opportunities depending on effort and performance. While our work is diverse and we are busy every day to keep people safe, we value our mission and enjoy responsibility very much.
