We are looking for someone who:
•Has around five to ten years of working experience in the operations of an Asset Management company, especially at the Trade Support Team and possesses a mindset of leading the team in the future.
•Team works both Trade Support and Fund Accounting area. Although your primary responsibility will be in Trade Support area, you are expected to support Fund Accounting area.
•For day-to-day operations, the team supports the business by handling all transactions executed for our domestic clients and funds, either in Japan or abroad. Transactions include equity, fixed income, foreign exchanges, listed and over-the-counter derivatives, onshore and offshore funds. Offshore funds include hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate, and other asset-backed funds. Processed transaction data will be the basis for calculating fund performance, client reporting, and data for portfolio managers.
•The team is responsible for working with vendors who have been delegated to calculate and publish the daily NAV of domestic mutual funds. To manage these processes, the team is responsible for running and managing key accounting systems such as T-Star/TX, FAIMS, and other internal systems. The team also plays a key role in setting up and launching Japan Domiciled Mutual Funds / Mandate accounts. To excel in this role, in addition to having basic product knowledge, the job requires a willingness to constantly learn new products and create and adapt new operational processes.
•To successfully perform these tasks, you need to work together with key internal stakeholders in Japan (Sales, Product, Investment, Reporting Team, Compliance, etc.) and outside Japan (operation teams where trades are executed and processed). You will also be required to work with external contributors such as local Trust Banks, Custodian Banks, Fund Service Providers, Auditors, Market Information Vendors, System Vendors, etc. Since the team heavily relies on internal and external systems and programs, a close working relationship with IT is required.
•You will be needed to engage in adhering internal and external control requirements. These control includes vender management, contract management, IT security control, internal and external audits.

Your team

You’ll be working with the Trade & Fund Support Team in Asset Management Japan.

Your expertise

•Experience working in the either Fund Accounting or Trade Support teams of an Asset Management Company. Team leading experiences will be a big plus.
•Knowledge of basic financial instruments such as Equity, Bond, Futures, Options, and FX is required. OTC products and ISDA experience are strong pluses.
•Experience working in Fund accounting will be a plus. Knowledge of Fund Accounting, QI, FATCA, Risk Asset reports, and other related fund accounting tasks.
•Experience working with market information systems such as Bloomberg, Eikon, etc.
•Experience with T-Star/TX and/or FAIMS.
•Good Excel skills. VBA skills are a strong plus.
•Fluent in Japanese, Business Level English.
•Active participation in cross-team / cross-border projects.
•Experience in leading or co-leading roles in projects.
•Understanding to adhere and actively participating in internal control related tasks.
