The Role

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and expense management
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with USGAAP and JGAAP
• Assist in preparing financial reports and variance analyses for both local and HQ stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and company policies
• Partner with internal teams (HR, operations, retail) and external auditors or tax advisors as needed
• Contribute to system and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and support team development

Your Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, Nissho Boki 2 or higher preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally within retail, FMCG, or multinational companies
• Solid knowledge of JGAAP and USGAAP
• Fluent in Japanese and English, both spoken and written
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across cultures
