Job Description
As an Amenity Attendant, you will use your strong interpersonal and decision making skills to ensure citizens enjoy our indoor Aquatic Facilities in a safe manner. You will succeed in this position if you can perform all tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way. The City of Edmonton is looking for amenity attendants to support our facilities during the busy summer months, including our five outdoor pools. What will you do?- Greet patrons in a friendly and respectful way
- Ensure appropriate behaviour and use of all equipment, such as slides and diving boards
- Ensure the safety of all patrons using facility amenities
- Ensure patrons are obeying rules and general facility guidelines
- Assist lifeguards in crowd control and marking arms
- Assist lifeguards with opening and closing of the amenities
- Control the movement of patrons in and out of the pavilions/dressing rooms
- Clean touch points as required
- Maintain statistics and administrative tasks including timesheets
- Act as a customer service representative on site
- Assist staff in emergency response as directed
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications: - Minimum 14 years of age; 15 years and older may be required depending on the facility
Skills required for success: - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle difficult situations
- Ability to perform the sustained and repetitive tasks related to the role, such as being upright for long periods of time
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide direction to facility users
- Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies ( )
- Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion
- Ability to swim 25m comfortably
Assets: - Experience working in a swimming pool environment and/or in a customer service role serving the public
- Ability to communicate in a second language
Conditions of employment: - Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Hire is dependent on Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Evening and weekend work is required. Salary: $20.320 per hour
