Summary

Join our dynamic team at New Beginnings Early Learning Center as our Cook, preparing nutritious meals for children and staff in our CACFP-participating center. We're seeking a warm, caring individual who brings both culinary expertise and a genuine love for children to this role. This part-time position offers consistent hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals following CACFP guidelines
  • Serve meals to children and staff while maintaining proper portion control
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment functionality
  • Manage inventory and food ordering
  • Document meals and maintain accurate CACFP records using Brightwheel
  • Follow all health and safety protocols
  • Monitor food expenses and maintain budget
  • Accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Experience in quantity cooking
  • Knowledge of CACFP guidelines and requirements
  • Proficiency with Brightwheel or ability to learn quickly
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in childcare or school food service
  • Menu planning experience
  • Knowledge of special dietary accommodations
  • Inventory management experience
