Job description

Reporting to the Data Lead, we are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Data team. We are working on modernizing our data pipeline and products, moving to a streaming first strategy. We’re also working to build frameworks that will allow self-serve when using our platform. All in all, very exciting projects ahead of us.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Creating Real time data pipelines
• Code reviewing
• Open source code reading

What is our technology stack?

• Databases: Mysql, Postgresql (PostGIS), Redis, ClickHouse
• Streaming: Kafka, Kafka connect
• Devops: CircleCI, Github Action, Terraform, Helm, DBT
• Cloud: AWS, Fargate, Lambdas, Docker, Kubernetes

What you’ll need to perform in this job:

• 2+ years of experience in a related field
• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Good Computer Science fundamentals with regards to data structures, algorithms, time complexity, etc.
• Good work experience with Python, Java / Scala, SQL
• Experience with data streaming and live processing mainly in Kafka
• Experience in Kubernetes is an asset
• Experience in DBT is an asset
• Good database skills and experience working with large data sets
• Ability to work independently and make use of your time effectively
